     News Letter July 2010

    Hi Folks,

Here is some fun stuff to look at and see if it will work for your layout.

Here is an O scale store that was inspired by my trip to Gold Hill Nevada in June. I also added
some of the pictures I took in Nevada below. Anyway back to the store. This could be used as a
store, mining office, logging office, barber shop and the list goes on. My building will go into my
layout town just the right size and up close so people can see the detail. Check out the detail.
The building is built out of wood but one side is covered with tin. Must of ran out of material for
the other sides. The building is hollow you have to do some minor assembly.

Here is another tank for the O scale guys. This time a square tanks all beat up and sitting on wood
ties. This could be used for gas or water you have to figure that out. This is a one piece casting. Do
not like it sitting on the wood ties sand them off and put on what you want. The man is not included
    just to show some reference.

We also have a new HO scale scene. This casting is 'What Happened?' a steam crane in
the mud. Check out the pictures below all the stumps are molded in to the casting base. This could
even be a scene where these two fellows find this in a clearing in the woods. Then wonder how
    it happen.

Here is a HO Log truck molded in one piece. All you have to do is paint it. This could be a cheap
way to get a fleet log log trucks for your layout. Going to make some log trucks in the future that
    are 1930's models.

Each month I try and make an item that is inexpensive in these trying times. Here is a HO scale
loading dock for your siding. Check out the board detail. You could even put two of these loading
docks together end to end and get a larger loading dock.

Also I'm selling my FSM collection since since I'm committed to  ON30 scale. I only have the
current jewel kits up on the site now and will add some of  the older ones later. So you can check
those out at FMS for Sale

    What's on the Workbench

Here is a little tip when working with Rusty Rail castings. If a casting is warped or you want to
change an items appearance use a hair dryer. Hold the item under the heat and in 30 seconds
or depending on how hot your hair dryer is,  you can remove the item from the heat and start
to shape that item. Do not put the resin in the oven.

Here are some of the pictures from my June Nevada trip.

You can now get catalogs of the products in Adobe format on  the web page. A complete catalog of
all products or an HO scale catalog or an O scale catalog
is available. If you have a problem reading
the Adobe catalogs you may need to download the most current version of the Adobe reader. This is
   a free download.
